EdgeLens AI today announced the launch of its exclusive beta pilot program for its on-device Generative AI agents, beginning with the AI Vision Agent for smart refrigerators. By performing all AI processing directly on the appliance’s hardware, EdgeLens AI enables manufacturers to deliver truly intelligent, responsive, and private user experiences, free from the cost and security vulnerabilities of the cloud.
Cloud-based AI, the standard for most smart devices today, creates significant latency and raises data privacy concerns for a majority of consumers. EdgeLens AI solves this by building custom, task-specific Small Language Models (SLMs) that are powerful enough to run complex tasks like object recognition and natural language processing locally. This approach eliminates AI inference costs and allows devices to function seamlessly without an internet connection.
